I am a wife, mother of three active boys and a minister for my church. Those are my priorities however, we live in a turbulent world with many unpredictable factors politically and economically. I wanted to take control of my prosperity rather than rely on fate.
Instead of succumbing to the barriers blocking the lifestyle I wanted, I started my business. I wanted to provide a service which would help me achieve that lifestyle while also achieving the goals of my clients. A business which would improve my client's efficiency and productivity, but also help change their lives.
My biggest challenge was pushing through the self-doubt and making the decision to take control of my financial condition. I wanted it to be on my terms as a Freelancer, not within the boundaries of the work force I grew up with.
When I researched becoming a Virtual Assistant and gave my husband my general business plan, he had negative comments and considerations about being able to make enough money and suggested that I should find other work. In the past, I would have taken that comment and stopped what I was creating. This time, I continued to go down the path of building my vision. I made a decision that I would continue despite the given barriers of creating a client base and learning a new technology at the age of forty-six.

Surrounding myself with like-minded entrepreneurs and building positive relationships, is how I overcame my initial challenges and continue to handle them.
Founding this company is quite an achievement, considering that in my early twenties I had to overcome my alcohol and drug dependency to face life and stressful situations. I knew I would end up in jail or dead if I continued. However, the social stigma was very real to me so I never talked to anyone about them. At a certain point, I decided to face the situation and stay motivated to get through the withdrawal. I decided who my friends really were and to get honest and straight with myself to improve my life. I needed to get off of those substances and find solutions for why I used them in the first place. I surrounded myself with a supportive group who had real solutions that worked and got my self-worth back to get the end result!

Now that I am alcohol and drug-free for twenty years, I am damn proud of overcoming that huge life challenge which allowed me to gain greater solutions to stressful situations and improve my abilities to solve problems. These tools also helped me start my business.
